The Botanical Gardens, Inc. designs, installs, and maintains residential landscapes of all sizes. We offer over 20 years of experience creating personalized outdoor living spaces to meet many different needs. Designs themes include:

The Botanical Gardens, Inc., constructs authentic garden accents to complement your landscape theme.  We create custom bamboo fences, brick and natural stone patios, Chinese stone work patios, granite driveways, Irish stacked walls, waterfalls, ponds, streams and many other custom features.  Our creative abilities give you many personalized options.

We pride ourselves in listening well to our customers so their needs are accomplished completely.  "Putting Imagination into practice is never a limitation."  This motto lets you know that your landscape design will always be original and personalized.  Our use of plant material is unique for a cold climate like Minnesota.  We utilize our own nursery stock from sources throughout the United States.  Unique options are available for every situation.

HISTORY

Bill Swanson is the owner and designer for The Botanical Gardens, Inc.  He has created a company that is not limited by the traditional.  Bill has always wanted to offer the greatest palette of plant material options possible for this cold climate.  He has a great passion for plants and makes that evident in the designs he creates.  With a B.S. degree from The University of Minnesota in Nursery Management and Landscape Design he utilized his love of plants by working for The University of Minnesota's Landscape Arboretum.  Bill worked on the plant breeding projects to introduce hardy woody plant material with unique ornamental quality.  The love of azaleas and rhododendrons was utilized during his work on the azalea breeding projects that produced the "Northern Lights Azalea" series of hardy azaleas.  The Botanical Gardens, Inc. uses new and improved trees and shrubs from all over the world.  We are always testing new genetic strains of plants in our display gardens.  We also sell unique plants to the public once each year at The Minnesota Arboretum's plant sale.  Come see us at the plant sale at The Minnesota Landscape Arbotetum, Chanhassen, MN, held every spring in May on Mother's Day Weekend. 


LANDSCAPE SERVICE PROCEDURES

There is no charge for the initial meeting; it serves as an opportunity for us to offer professional and creative insight while exchanging ideas with you.  We become familiar with your personal taste in order to create a unique landscape design tailored specifically to you!  The Botanical Gardens, Inc., will create a custom landscape plan to fit your needs:

  • Minimum plan cost is $ 500.00        

Payment for the plan is required before designing occurs.  The cost of the landscape plan will be deducted from the final invoice when the landscape project has been completed.

  • Minimum cost for installation ranges from $ 15,000- $ 20,000.00

The second meeting includes presentation of our designs and installation estimates.  Design alterations may be made after this meeting at no additional cost.  When the plans are agreed upon, a tentative timetable for installation is given. At this time, a 1/3 down payment is received with an additional 1/3 payment to be paid when the project begins.  Final payment will be due upon final invoice.
